$0 fool. Don't let the banks win, always pay in full
Thanks for the advice, D2! I can't believe I never thought of that before this exact moment ...
If you are a consultant and in credit card debt - you should take the hard steps to fix it NOW. Drastically cut your spending, move somewhere cheaper, get a roommate. Do whatever you have to do to get rid of your CC debt this year. You are making a good enough salary that you should be able to pull yourself out with a little sacrifice. You never know what's going to happen to your income down the road so do it now while you can.
1st rule of credit card: Credit cards are for free rewards. They are not free cash
Jesus, who carries a balance on their cards? Live within your means, friends.
Coach bags? Is this high school? Is this 2007?
Medical bills, etc... Things happen @D3
I never carry a balance but I will say my $3100 balance I paid today was rough 😩
Such a smart move OP. Keep at it!!
Zero. Never carried a balance. And if you're carrying a balance, I hope you're not using a rewards credit card and are using a card with the lowest possible rate.
I'm paying some down now. Use your raise and bonus to throw some extra cash at it.
'Cause I have thirty thousand dollars in credit card debt.
When they call, I tell them I can't pay it back yet.
D5 exactly my thoughts. I've made some progress and should be debt free in a month or two
Nothing irreversible, just find myself constantly trying to get out of the hole but it might take a few months of really scaling back on a few things to catch up. I've been chasing it for a while now
We have everything comp'd, Monday through Thursday. That should help. Just avoid being an idiot on the weekends, buying Coach bags, and spending too much on dinner dates with girls.
How much is too much OP?
Well said D8. So true
Aww EY2 you are so cute with your coach bags comment
I've got a ton too, OP. All these comments about misusing credits are are valid, but not actually helpful to paying cards off. Have you tried using apps like ReadyforZero and stopped using the cards all together?
Seriously, it it gets that bad, you should take a personal loan with low(er) interest to pay off credit card debt. Don't forget to pay off that loan either
