I lost money while working in big 4 cause I would spend money like crazy to compensate for my misery. When I left b4 I was $20k in credit card debt

When I was an associate I'd spend so little Feb-April and make up for it after 4/15.

Only on food when I don’t meal prep because prices are high for what I’m willing to spend on dinner in the office.

Been doing this 12 years and every accountant I met has a vice. Spending to feel good doesn’t scratch the itch for me.

I do the opposite. Nothing makes me feel better than charging literally everything I can to the client.

Seeing growth in my investments (excluding today) and bank accounts makes me feel like it’s worth it.

You need a sugar baby?

Retail therapy is a “thing” but I experienced the opposite. Too busy to shop.

Nope I’ve saved so much, no time to spend money

In a complete sentence: no.

No

Definitely not. If I did I would feel like the effort was all a waste because I have nothing to show for it.

Guilty 🙋‍♂️

Just u dawg

February is my lowest spending month.. January and March are close 2nd place.

Not on random stuff, but I do book vacations :) Ever since I put a deposit down on a cruise a few weeks ago, my work has felt more meaningful again.

I got rejected for an interview from Big 4 NY Audit, even had referrals from Manager + level people. 3 years w/ audit senior at mid size firm, 2 years fed tax at big 4, and 1.5 years Internal Audit healthcare. Currently self employed for a year to work on investing. Do I literally need a partner level referral to get back into Audit? I thought there was an accountant shortage.
