Personally, I’d ride out Covid with your parents and keep saving. It’s not like you can go out with friends and dates anyway. Plus, living alone during all this is rough. Don’t overestimate how nice it is to have other people around right now.
Excellent advice. Ride it out, bud. Save your money up. No better excuse to live at home right now and save it up. You will always need large sums of money saved up for every inconceivable future scenario. Keep saving, wait til Covid is in a much better place. Rents will get low and stay low for a while.

A lot of people are moving in with family to save money rn, so it might be good to wait. But also rent prices are really low so you could get a great deal on an apartment.
Live with your parents and save money until they force you to leave
I also vote to stay at home through this, when you can't really date and hang out with friends much anyway. Stockpile that $$$$ and create some nice savings for yourself, and get your own apt when this is over!

Same as what everybody else says for all the reasons they stated and also because who knows if you’ll still have a job in a few months.

Though rent for apartments and homes prices are going up in the burbs b/c people are fleeing metropolitan areas, rents in NYC and such are going down. Now might be a good time if you’re looking at a city.
I reco staying a bit longer to save money. Do research as rent is going down to see if you can lock in a nice place for lower. Are your friends back in the city or did they leave to go to parents. I’m almost 26 & 99% of my friends went home including me. Been at home since March & im kicking myself for also paying rent but at the same time I have a lease I can’t break. The dating piece is hard, which I’m struggling with too but how willing are you to meet strangers right now?
Well I already had the virus so I take a little more liberties
You're dating in covid times? Tbh, I have a feeling we're all headed back to closures and lockdowns in the fall.
Also, inventory is up in NY but prices haven't fallen. Bay Area a bit different though.
