Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

I have more than once experienced them painting a positive hopeful picture and then ghosting. It has happened so many times that I don’t trust 3rd party recruiters anymore. I’ve only encountered one great one.
I agree it doesn’t make sense. I suspect they lack respect and empathy because I would never do this to anyone, stranger or not.
Unfortunately among the recruiting hacks this is standard operational procedure. When they pull this stunt, they are often weak-kneed. In addition, they are not management for their client so they can’t promise squat.
These type of hacks will have you settle for less than you are worth. They will also try a “bait and switch”, telling you that the first employer reneged on an offer, but lo and behold, they have a better opportunity albeit at less pay.
There are plenty of good recruiters who will be transparent with you. I’ve dealt with both types so just find another recruiter if they aren’t being transparent.
Happened to me before. Luckily I didn’t care for the job that much and got a much better offer a few months later.
Abnormal behavoir or if i’m being too impatient? I’m fine if its the latter, but i’ve worked with multiple recruiters and have never experienced this. For context the “client” is a small company.
