I have heard of this, and I would be pretty upset if I was offered crypto instead of a salary. I know crypto is all the rage and someday it might be valuable. But unless you’re getting actual significant amounts of bitcoin being paid in crypto seems like a scam. At least that’s how I view it.

Yes, crypto does seem to be all the rage now. Especially how the government plans on incorporating more crypto into it now too.
I've never been given this option. I have heard of it, though. If I'm remembering correctly, a couple of big name athletes asked for their salaries to be paid in crypto over the past few years. Odell Beckham Jr. was one of them. I'm pretty sure he timed it perfectly and made a killing on his BTC, assuming he held onto it.
As my entire salary? Nah, I’m not motivated by essentially a wholly fabricated trading security. The bottom could drop out at any time and I think you’d need to manage the tax implications every time to pay your bills. I’d accept crypto as a bonus or partial (like stock options) but that’s about it.
Btw: if any of that statement is incorrect, I’d appreciate if someone clarified my understanding.
