Anyone ever receive an offer after a month has gone by from your last interview? I went 3 rounds with a law firm and they seemed very interested. I followed up about a week later and they told me I was still under consideration. It's been crickets since. Do I follow up again for an answer or should I just consider it a denial?

Some firms have hiring committees that meet infrequently (monthly). But if they've not responded at all, I would take that as a not-promising sign. Redouble your efforts elsewhere.

like

That’s annoying. I would neither consider it a denial nor follow up again yet. I’d give it at least another week before nudging them again. Best thing would be if you had another offer you could use to pressure them.

like

If this is how they treat you now… move on.

I wouldn’t worry about it at all, that’s what happened to me, I got the job. The managing partner later told me he just got really swamped, and it took longer than expected internally.

like

I think it was 2 months, and literally I was their top choice, it just took a long time for them to coordinate with everyone’s schedule

like

Move on but be pleasantly surprised if they reach back out. Maybe they just aren’t that into you (have another offer out).

Any advice on shifting from association law to commercial real estate in FL?

I've been applying to jobs for months but every position wants at least 2yrs of experience in real estate transactions, usually way more. I'm at 1yr+ doing HOA/condo work but have had no opportunity to do real estate transactions like I expected. Seems like the only way to get the experience is to have nailed a big law gig right out of school and get put into that practice.

Been through all interviews, recruiter said it's looking good but they would let me know early this week and asked if that works from a timing perspective since they know I was interviewing with someone else also. I said yeah that's fine. Would it be weird to follow up today or should I wait to hear from them? Want this one over the other but don't want to seem desperate..
