After months of depression and suicidal thoughts, I had a big realization that pulled me out of it.. that I’m alone in the world and I can’t rely on anyone else but myself. As a chronic people pleaser, this was liberating.

Girlfriend has very obvious high functioning anxiety and body image issues that she admits but thinks she doesn’t need therapy or medication and that reading self-help books will help her. It’s not changing in the last several years and it’s impacting our relationship. Anyone have experience with their SO dealing with untreated anxiety? With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then. Any similar experience to share?

I went to the lease this last weekend. Not one drop of alcohol was had. That was the closest I’ve come to caving. 4 wheelers, killing dinner with big guns, doing manly things in God’s country. Beer is an absolute necessity during these events. Anyhow, I didn’t drink. Proud of myself. Monumental moment for me.

Usually over thinker are into depression.... Dhyan or Meditation is the only medicine in world which can cure this without impacting your health...

I have seen my close one gone through this medication will ruin your chemical balance and it may make you addictive to the same...

To do an ERA or not before transfer is the question. My clinic said currently the recommendation is to only do an ERA with multiple transfer fails, but I’ve read about ERA’s for those with recurrent pregnancy loss as well. Anyone go through this experience?

Finally hit my breaking point. Been nothing but irritable & pissed off these past few weeks. Coach asked me on Friday when I’ll be taking time off & I just broke down. I’m a top performer & a workhorse. I’ve put so much effort into making sure my team is okay I forgot about myself. Now I am buried in work, performance is dropping & I can’t stop crying randomly. I kept telling people I am drowning but no one was listening. Coach is leaning to tell everyone to backoff thankfully.

So my district’s school board just met, still no plan or direction. Staff goes back Monday 😕. Honestly I can believe I am part of something like this

My district just voted to go back 100% capacity beginning March 1st. Is anyone in this bowl already doing this? How has it gone? Are you fully vaccinated yet?

Do you think using “him/her” for “he/she” (ex: “her is playing” “him not here yet”) is something that kids usually grow out of? Or does it need direct intervention? I have 2 students who exhibit this error, who otherwise should be dismissed. Normally I’d just keep them on and work on it alongside other goals, but they don’t have any other goals, and with COVID, and my upcoming maternity leave in March, a more compact caseload would be advantageous.

Hello SLP team!! What are your average completion rates/ how much of your weekly times are you meeting? I’m really struggling right now and I’m afraid I’ll appear as low productivity

What is your school district’s reopening plan?

Should we actually start posting our rates and salaries?? I work for stepping stones group, I was recruited under a travel contract and they tried to renege. My current offer is for 62/ hour but direct service only aka I only get paid if I’m with kids/ Medicaid billing.

Do you think the changes in parents options for schooling: pods, private, home-schooling, virtual will open the way for private providers to hold a case-load of school age students, beyond just PK?

Is your district providing SLP’s PPE or are you responsible for supplying your own? I have heard a ton about teachers and feel that we are being lumped in with them. Districts are not recognizing that we are health care professionals working in an academic environment. We are at much higher risk do to the nature of our work.
