For me, it's the long game of cultivating a good relationship with them through my actions and words. Being human, getting to know them, showing interest in their interests, listening to their perspective, etc. And one day, you might find them asking about what drives you in life and you can just answer honestly.
Not maybe the best advice but I notice a lot of atheists don't like Christians because they feel they are judgey ( some are but so are some atheists too), or that we're too preachy ( same comment as above). I used to tell the one I dealt with " a preachy in your face atheist is just as bad as a preachy in your face Christian" when other people started saying it to him ( some of whom were agnostic) he finally shut up.
