Anyone have thoughts about HP switching this year’s bonus to a 3-year vested RSU instead of a cash payout? While RSUs can have long-term benefits, they come with significant downsides, like tying up your compensation for years and exposing you to stock market fluctuations. HP is great company but the stock hasn’t moved but 8% in the last year. I think it’s really inconsiderate that leadership made this change.

Yeah I don't see why they would make the change unless it was better for their bottom line. There's no way that it's better for employees than a cash payout would be. They're just trying to make it look like it's not a cheap move

like

Exactly. This move primarily benefits the company’s cash flow right now while setting them up for a nice tax deduction in three years when the RSUs vest…assuming all employees stick around that long, which is pretty unlikely.

RSUs are great for high growth companies, not sure about HP

Same thoughts

Over on our side we still got our cash bonus, instead we didn't receive a raise at all. As far as I understood it they were giving us this 3 year RSU instead of a raise. Kind of a bummer as I thought one of the benefits of putting in time with a company like this would be looking forward to raises. However, overall I'm very happy with the company they are helping me go the direction I want with my career. Maybe I'll see a raise next year.

Most employees won’t stay around that long so long term savings and improved cash flow in the ST ….FCF must be hurting??

I have a little more incentive to make them worth more. The problem is three years is a long time in today’s market. And I’ve been party to being shorted by being let go.

They plan a massive headcount reduction so >50% of these rsu will never vest.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?

Hi Everyone. I completed my 1 year in EY in October 2022. And in my profile, they have updated it to Senior Analyst now. But that was a progression that happens every year and I have not received the incremented salary.

Now that they are giving increments to everyone, will I receive both progression and increment or my progression will be counted as increment.

Highly confused.

Hi all - just joining and looking for some guidance! I am currently in an IT internship position (making pretty solid money considering) and following this summer I will stay on part time during my senior year (discussing a full-time job offer after already).
