Anyone heard about layoffs??? 👀

Was working in my community’s lounge with Deloitte swag. A girl probably saw the Deloitte logo and walked up to ask if Deloitte was hiring. Said she used to be in consulting but got fired when Covid hit and started doing OF. Now that OF will be gone soon, she’s contemplating going back to consulting. I didn’t know what to think or how to respond and I just said I’m on a call. Now I’m contemplating making OF account to check out her content 😅

Where are the layoffs? I heard Mullen in Boston 100 people, Anomaly big numbers, McGarrah Jessee in Austin 10% of all staff, Giant Spoon, where else hit hard?

I joined CGI on August, I am still in bench, I am afraid whether i get laid off.

Its been more than 2 months i am still in bench.

My manager and all they busy doing there work.

I am still filling timesheet as inbetween assignments, Actually i am bit worried. Can you please give some insight whether i need to to stay in CGI or move from CGI.

Ever since my dad got laid off due to covid he has not been trying to get a job and our savings are running low… I don’t want my parents to depend on me but I feel like they will and my dad won’t get a job. What should I do? I’m an immigrant and we are Asian. It’s our culture to look after them but this is just tiring after I’ve helped them financially over the last decades and still am 😞

If you’ve been laid off during COVID or in the past, do you tell everyone you know or just people who can help you? I have been laid off due to COVID and tried to tell most people in the industry so I can find work, but I’m finding it emotionally draining to tell each person in my life, including every friend, relative and neighbor, that I am unemployed. Sometimes I just say everything’s fine when they ask me in order to save face and avoid their pity. Is this normal?

What are typical severance packages for manager and below? Director and above?
