I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. Honestly that’s a dream situation for most people. Enjoy the laid back work and focus on hobbies / side hustle etc
This was my reaction… I feel like everything I do is so intensely scrutinized
I am getting work that will keep me busy 40 hours a week. But I don’t really work on them. I haven’t really worked on anything in last 6 months except for the meetings. Because of past stellar performances/reviews, everyone in the team believes what I say. I am just taking advantage of this situation. I know that I need to find a different opportunity sooner. But internally, I feel like i want to do this till they fire me
How much are you working? Does your work leave you enough time to pursue other hobbies and passions? Nothing wrong with having a low effort job just for income and using your spare time to have fun. The idea that everyone must have a job doing their “passion” is silly IMO.
At this point if you’re financially stable, it doesn’t hurt to figure out what you actually enjoy. You likely have the option to boomerang back if it doesn’t work out
