And pizza delivery.
And I have rental properties.
And I'm 2-3 years away from an urban farm in the black selling micro greens and herbs to bougie farm to table places near my house.
Indeed - I find agencies are easier than straight contract roles. Although FlexJobs is helpful too.
I’ve had coworkers transition into Human Resources, construction management, veterinarian, museum curator, farming, librarian, teaching, real estate development, restaurant management, and more. Vast majority just transition to industry or government accounting, though
Wow! Archeology is one hell of a dream. I grew up in Cuba and our options were limited but I remember telling my mom I wanted to be an archeologist and she told me in Cuba we didn't have that major so it's great you got to learn this.

After a year in the summer heat and winter snow, shitting in portables and having a minor injury I decided working in an office was not so bad after all. My friends that stayed in the trades have shoulder, knee, and back problems for life. My worst physical ailments are cholesterol and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Life is just about picking the less worse option that maximizes your own utility sometimes. I loved electrician work but it takes a huge toll on your body when it’s your sole livelihood.
I get enjoyment instead of doing DIY projects at home with my son.
