If you have your PMP, was it worth it?

I did an MBA with a focus in ops where I learned project management. I didn't expect to actually do it but landed in a PM spot a couple years later and found I really enjoyed it.
That said, I don't think it's worthwhile to do a program in only PM. I think a better path would be to learn ops as a whole. A great PM is a valuable thing but it won't get you to VP. Ceiling is probably director of a PM team, overseen by an ops leader. Once you learn the basics of PM there are lots of opportunities to learn more like PMI.
As a PM you can find ways to use ops skills more generally and branch out. Hope that helps.
No, it wasn't
PH1’s advice above is pretty sound. If you’re going to invest in an advanced degree that’s career-specific, make it something with higher growth potential, and Ops gives you more options.
NYU is a puppy mill. Speaking as an alumna. Some degrees are worth it, plenty are not. Be careful what you choose, maybe talk to the alumni office first for stats on graduates for a variety of focuses.
Why would you get a MS in project management lol. That’s a horrible investment

Agree better of with a PMP and navigate over to product. I saw a video on LinkedIn where the guy is already @200k salary.
I don't think it's worth the money unless you have your job paying for it.
Yeah, it's not worth it. I would say get rela life experience, and if you want, get a PMP, but I wouldn't waste time getting an MS in PM
