Anyone have experience working CWX side of Facebook (Meta) ? These are the full time contract roles that potentially turn into permanent roles directly with Facebook (Meta). Had a recruiter reach out and offering me comparable TC and such, just curious if anyone has experience in these roles and success/failure of transitioning into permanent role. Thanks in advance!

Went into consulting for 3 years straight from undergrad, left for industry for 5 years, then came back a year ago. Was able to come back to consulting in a much better position compared to peers who stayed in consulting. Going into industry really helped me develop my skillsets that contribute towards my personal brand. I’m now the “go-to” guy for certain areas
Ahh gotcha. How often are you traveling in your role?
Personally, the extra hours are worth the pay bump. Im able to save/invest a lot more and I still have plenty of time for my hobbies. However, once I get married and have kids… thinking of switching back to industry
I left and im never going back
Same. I cannot imagine returning.
I don't plan to return. I think as a whole the standards as of now in terms of well-being is very detrimental to our society. We should enjoy life and make the most of our time here. To often ppl plan to take time for family, health, pleasure but rarely squeeze it in. there’s a lot of well-being washing going on saying they’ll give more time but then a client doesn’t align and so you end up working on holidays and during time your company has set aside to disconnect.
I always come back to the thought if we only have 75 springs, summers, falls, winters, what are you going to do with them? do you have time in sprints for what you want from life, plenty of ways to make a living and have what works for you. The damage of stress on health is more prevalent in research today & becoming a large issue for most people. these companies aren’t fixing it just throwing more at us. Stop building a culture with boundaries that are toxic to health. Why is it that there is so much well-being thrown at these companies? because they’ve built companies that are destroying their workforce
Yep. I work at a boutique and have a lot more say in terms of the company and how I manage my work-life balance. I did not enjoy the politics in industry and the snail's pace that some things run at. Agree with KPMG1 that it vastly improved my understanding of the industry (biopharma) and my value to clients
Left for a year to join a corp strat team and came back at the same level for a pretty steep raise. All in all it worked out, but it's a little tough coming back to my analyst class peers all being a few levels above me now
