I’m going through final interviews and want to see what your experience was like (negotiation process, initial offer higher/lower than expected?, did you give them a salary expectation range? How long did it take from final interview to offer etc) TIA!PwC EY KPMG Deloitte

You shouldn’t feel imposter syndrome
Tax scares people
They are happy to have anyone on board that knows a thing or two about it
Left as an experienced senior (just entering s3 year) and was promoted at the first real opportunity - I was only there for 3 months at the first annual review. Second annual review, promoted up. international tax on a 20 person global tax team.
But I was technically at the manager level when I left, just limited by office size and was told so by the partner at the firm I was leaving and several advisors we worked with - was told directly by a big 4 SM he was surprised I was only a senior.
If you're a high performer in public you'll be a high performer, if not a very top performer, at most companies in industry. Especially if the people you work with have been out of public greater than 5 years. People get very complacent in their jobs and people who are driven out of public either job hop seeking advancement or change their career path entirely and stay in a meaningful (making enough to make it worthwhile) yet easy lower totem role.
