I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who shares in this group. It truly helps me stay sober. I am approaching 12 months sober but have been struggling lately. Week 2 at new company that goes off Chinese custom. Most employees are Chinese citizens on visa. I noticed something odd about some of their employment agreements, they are paid 85% salary during probation of 6 months. If performance is good, they get the full 100% after month 6. I personally have never seen this, nor do I think this is legal in the US let alone WA/CA. Trying to get them up to compliance but this one has me stumped. My gut says this is illegal. All employees are engineers.
