Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

Keep going. It’s probably worth it. ✌🏼
Be very careful. They will razzle dazzle you and try take your work without paying for it. If they offer equity in exchange for discounted hours, always consult with a finance professional first.
Well, say everything is going well with the start up client and you really like them and they really like you. After the first couple weeks go smoothly and payments are coming in - they ask if you would like to invest into the start up. It sounds like a really good idea until you double-check that with a financial professional who tells you otherwise. That if you accept start up equity in exchange for your weekly or monthly payments, you are taking a major risk! If the start up disappears, well so does your work and they would have effectively taken your work without paying for it.
Start up people are brilliant. Especially the ones who didn't go to school and have made millions. Just exercise more caution with start ups because you don't actually know whats behind the curtain.
If any company took this long to hire me I would probably wonder what’s going on internally and think their time management was wack. What type of role is this? Are these people bored? Are you the only candidate?
Really? What was it like? What was your role?
