Well-traveled people: what seem like the best major market cities to live in with access to great in-house jobs (FAANG, adjacent companies, etc.). Some markets seem like really fun places to live but seem insanely expensive (San Fran, DC). Others seem like great comp to cost of living ratios but you seem like you’d basically be in a boring suburb (Raleigh, etc.) or have major drawbacks (arctic weather in Chicago, etc.). Maybe I’m totally off base though. Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

I had always wanted to try Freshly or something similar, but in our boutique firm, getting take out lunch together was such a ritual. We'd round ourselves up at noon, walk to Whole Foods or a food truck for our lunch. I tried just walking with them, but I would always inevitably get something. I just went back to the office last week, and almost everyone is bringing lunch now. So I have four Freshly meals sent directly to the office. And they are DELICIOUS!

Feeling so lost. One day it hit me hard that I don’t think the career path I’ve been in is right for me. It’s been gnawing at me ever since. Looking for a change, but don’t want to leave my company just for the sake of leaving, or just better pay. I want to know that my next move is a step that is going to take me places.

I feel utterly passionless which doesn’t help. And anything that sounds remotely interesting isn’t something I feel I can monetize.

Seating etiquette question:
I boarded a flight and when I got to my seat someone was in it and had fully unpacked into the seat. He wanted to sit next to the person adjacent to me.
He asked me to swap to a bulkhead seat and I declined.

I feel if he had waited until I got there, I would have been amenable. I was more stunned by the aggressive expectation that I would just move.

Was I wrong?

Who are these people who walk around the airport talking to people on speakerphone? They keep it close to their head, why not just use the phone like a human person?
