[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

If I didn’t find a job after 1.5 years of searching, I would be extremely concerned about my ability to find something while I’m unemployed.
Burnout is real, but don’t forget bills are also very real. It’s possible consulting isn’t for you or perhaps you’re not looking at the right jobs in your search. You can also try looking at roles internally within your company or look at less intense roles — try companies known for work life balance or look at federal consulting.
Good luck in your search - hang in there

M2, I am not cut out for fed work, neither back office work. I'm not trying to stick to consulting either. In fact I'm not talking to any consulting recruiters. I'm trying to move into s&o roles primarily in tech and Fintech. I have banking tech background (think product mgt) which I'm trying to leverage combined s&o consulting. Banks are soul crushing and even though I know I'd get a job at a bank in a heartbeat; I choose not to apply. I turned down a $300k client offer recently.
C1, I'm considering a coach and a lot of what you said make sense. I'm aggressively networking to get referrals via different mediums. I've taken online classes, interview prep sessions, practiced many business cases for specific roles.
I think I do need a coach who can help me be at peace with myself first. I need to come out of this burn out and use my energy in a better way. Thanks for the hope! 🙏🏽
Take a vacay to Jamaica. Sandals always turns around my worries. Also something to look forward to. I love that place. Be sure to go all inclusive wherever you go
Mostly relieved.

Sabbatical and upskilling is probably your route to success!
Don’t do this. It never works out even if one person in this thread tells you an anecdotal story
