Anyone transitioned into a new career, a technical role in their late 30s/early 40s? Any issues, concerns, regrets, rewards, happiness in the decision? Did it fair well after the first job post career change?

I work for a toxic company that doesn't seem to want to promote anyone on the legacy product or women in general. I haven't gotten a title change in years but I do the work of a Sr. Manager. None of us on legacy are allowed to start work on the new system which means everyone gets promoted around us. Has anyone else worked for a company that kept you down but you were able to get hired for a role seemingly much higher than the one you have now?

I am loving this so much more than project management and I’m very eager to learn more! I was curious what are some of the best books, articles, courses that have helped you grow the most? And do you have any other tips and recommendations for someone just starting out in this career path?

Thank you in advance!

Any advice for when you have a few agencies/clients *potentially* wanting to book you at the same time but they are wishy washy to *actually* seal the deal with a contract?

My gut instinct is to tell each potential client that another agency is trying to book me (like when you get far along in the FT interview process) but that seems melodramatic for freelance, right?

I just took over a SAAS product where I own P&L with 800 B2B clients with so much customization that it feels like 800 versions of the product. The product was acquired and there are a ton of process improvements needed, tribal knowledge and start up mentality. I have a PO who does the day to day work with the devs, but otherwise it’s just me. I’ve been a PM for 15 years and never felt so understaffed. I’d like to hear the level of responsibility you each have and how your team is structured.
