For those of you who are CPAs and left public accounting for another job, has anyone left for a completely different field? I’m a burnt out CPA senior and I have no idea if I even want to be in accounting anymore

Is it possible to land a financial analyst position with only 6 months of experience in audit? I tried to stick it out w/ B4 but I don’t think I can do it anymore. I’m interested in duties like budgeting/forecasting, but haven’t come across very many entry level positions. I’m mostly seeing entry level jobs that are called “financial analyst” but include duties like JE/reconciliations. I don’t have SQL/Tableau experience either... so not sure if I just need more experience in a diff role first?

Finally got a tech job offer, which is what I always wanted...(non-faang but medium sized).

But now all this talk of recession has me think if it's even worth the risk of taking it with all these lay offs and down rounds for valuations (for RSUs).

Chartered Accountant in Audit in big 4 but have lost my passion. Feeling trapped. I don’t enjoy the technical aspects of finance at all but do enjoy the commercial stuff.
