Anyone with reduced schedule success stories? Considering an 80% schedule but worried drawing the line will be hard.

Don’t do it. You will still be expected to meet client demands regardless

Degree of success depends on your level and practice area. The higher up you are, the harder it is to make it work. The more consultative the practice, the harder it is. For example, if you are a young manager or below doing mostly tax compliance, if is easier than a sr mgr in say M&A or International. Also depends on your boss/ group. It is worth a try but monitor it carefully and don’t take a pay cut for no reason. Is a challenge but I have seen it work. When it does, adds a lot of nice flexibility to your career as you can ramp up later if you want to or need to

Senior on FWA here. I’ve been on it for a couple years. It has worked so far. Drawing the line is hard, but you have to be clear about when you are and aren’t available. I have to leave early and pick up kids and am busy until they go to bed. I don’t want to work allll night (pulled an all nighter weeks after I got back from maternity leave) that made me draw the line and go on a FWA

What is the deal with people listening to videos and music on their phones, WITHOUT HEADPHONES, in public spaces?? I’ve seen a huge uptick in this on trains, the tube, in coffee shops, etc. Is this really how self-centered we’ve become? Did people forget that they need to behave differently when around others vs in lockdown at home? Wtf

Hello,

Long time fishbowl lurker, first time poster.

I work in Healthcare consulting (8 yoe). I'm incredibly passionate about Healthcare and have thought a lot about how to make meaningful changes that keep people healthy and how it can be affordable and accessible to all. I know Google has been operating in the Healthcare market. Anyone here open to connect so I can learn more about its current activities/future plans? I'd like to see if there's a role that I'd be a good fit for.

Thank you!

Not nearly enough messages. Was a senior when I had a kid...so nice of KPMG to NOT tell me the way to properly submit for parental leave back in the day.

Going into busy season as a "step" mom of elementary age kid. Just found out today that we are getting full custody. Husband works and is in school... Advice please!

My wife texts me that my 15 month old constantly says "da-da" and walks to my office to see if him home and then looks sad when I'm not there. I don't think I can take this emotional torture. 😢

Random question but do you let your kids hang out in your bedroom and use your master bath if applicable? My kids always seem to want to use our bathroom instead of theirs and my spouse doesn't care but I grew up with my parent's room basically being off limits and think I'd prefer it that way.
