Got an offer from a health system for a PMO role, but if accepted would most likely want to pivot back into consulting after a couple of years. Has anyone made a similar transition?

We are considering reconfiguring the roles within our Contracts/Legal Department. We are a smaller team (5-8 people) but we face large technical and operational challenges due to many legacy systems used by our company. We may need to focus more on a legal operations/contract management function for our department to address these issues. Does your organization have this role? How does the role fit within the department and does it work well? What would you change about it if you could?
