It is fun, wlb is better. But be prepared you will lose a lot of perks and benefits.
Cost cutting is everywhere but in corporate they get super stingy.
Perks I missed: organized trainings (I now have to look for CPE opportunities yo maintain my cpa), unlimited PTO (only 15 days for first 5 years), 16 weeks maternity/paternity leave (8 weeks at my current company), technology (basic shit like acrobat pro needs approval for a license)
Are you trying to get out of consulting as a whole or just a better overall WLB? My company is still risk advisory consulting but a million times better WLB than Big 4
What is your firm’s name? How’s benefit package?
Based on my experience, WLB is better overall in industry as a whole but there are a few exceptions. In terms of “fun” I would recommend an industry that is not Financial Services, worked in a bank after public and it was not fun, more of a serious tone as you would probably expect. Switched industries recently and I will say people are more relaxed and fun overall
Yup. I switched from FSO to commercial because financial service clients were too uptight. Love commercial way more
GRANT THORNTON! 40/45 SINCE I JOINED LAST JULY!
CB is always looking for experienced and motivated employees. Summer months are relaxed but things do pickup in august through the new year. Perks are great and pay is competitive
