What is a data lake in basic terms?
Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Have you spoken with the SaT analytics group? Your skill set seems like a good fit.
I have - like the group led by Khalid K.
Over the last 5-6 months I've been trying to get onto an analytics project but none have been sold :/
It appears that the group is sorta-kinda disintegrating. Two of the four senior directors have moved to other groups. One of the partners has left the group. The new acquisition, QS-2, is being kept siloed and separate so no immediate chance to join them

Tough ask. Do you by chance have the stats and ML chops to be a quant?
Otherwise, career changes don't happen without some kind of career setback. You're learning something new after all, and won't perform at the same level for a while.
All that said, your best beta are fin tech and M&A supporting boutiques. Your experience might be seen as valuable domain expertise that gives you a boost
UIUC MCS-DS and GT OMSA combine top 5 and 6 CS department rep, low cost, and online format. Also look at MSBA's, which can be econometrics-heavy but still give you some CS (but really look at the curriculum and ask alums!). And of course glance around stats masters...
Don't forget to look at specific course reviews. Every school has some great and some copout classes. You can't rely on brand alone if you have specifics you'd like to learn.
Don't discount regionally known state schools in your area either. They might have solid offerings, if not the brand. Big4 experience should carry your resume fine as is.
(my first MS was from one of these, and felt maybe even a bit harder than my second done later via a top department)
