Are BizOps roles at mature, well-funded startups a lucrative exit opportunity if you’re lateraling from a consultant role? Or do people typically exit for more interesting work and a better lifestyle?

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.

I’m new to in-house and I begin in January. I wanted to basically better understand M&A and all the inner workings of expanding the scope of a business into new avenues. Does anyone recommend a book or two that may be relevant/helpful? On amazon, I see “The Art of M&A” and “Working With Contracts”. Thank you for any insight.

Today I learned a new thing. One candidate was referred by a colleague of mine in the system. He got selected and offer letter rolled out.

Microsoft is offering me a position of Software Engineer. How long did it take you to receive your first promotion? I have 3 years of work experience, currently at my 3rd agency, and third associate position. Four people on my brand team have been promoted (across levels and departments, but none in PM). I'm getting sick of being pumped up with empty praise if others are actually being rewarded with accolades.
