Hi Fishes, Currently I am working in Kolkata for past 3 years. I am not a fan of the humid weather in Kolkata. Whenever I go out, its sweaty.. I have an opportunity to shift my workplace to Hyderabad. I want to know about Hyderabad weather month wise..
Weather is only the deciding factor to move. Anyone who has lived in both the cities for more than a year.. Cognizant Tata Consultancy Capgemini IBM Infosys

How do you define early? I didn’t shift until my oldest was 6, by moving from consulting to industry and to a fully remote role and taking a pay cut for the better WLB. I felt that at this age was when they truly started needing me to be more present- volunteering at their elementary school, driving to and being an assistant coach at their recreational sports teams, etc. Before 6, they’re just in daycare and limited extracurriculars so we found we could still manage our demanding jobs with more outsourcing (eg grocery and food delivery)
OK, good to know I figured 0 to 3 would be the most demanding. My two-year-old does not do well in daycare till 5 PM. Starting one year-old in daycare next month with Nanny picking them both up early, but was thinking about going part-time for a couple years. sounds like now is not the time!
I think 0-3 is demanding in different ways. this is when there may be a lot of middle of the night wake ups, a lot of diapering, and feeding. you have to watch them constantly and ensure their safety.
Not sure if we are considered dual high income but we are in both somewhat 9-5 job with occasional evening/weekend. So far manageable with our 2 year old. Key was to sleep train around 6 month old and maintaining that so we can preserve some peace after 8pm in the evenings for Netflix/chore/work. I guess that gets more difficult as kid gets older and sleeps later
sleep training is key.
We shifted by going 1 income. Wasn’t an easy call, but it’s been transformative for the family

We are pretty equal earners but I take on the majority of children load and since having kids running our household has become a full time job that I can’t keep up with. Even though we have full time childcare during working hours and outsource a lot of the chores the coordination and mental load are 😵💫. Hoping it’s just the phase of 1 and 2 year old?? But it’s not working at present

Preemptively shifting my spouse down from 5 days a week to 3 days a week (healthcare job) after the recent birth of our first. Our logic being, that the additional time at home is worth more than the incremental income of 2 extra days a week.
Maybe we could’ve survived both staying at 5 days a week, but I think shifting her to part time will be more sustainable in the long term.
