When negotiating Salary, do you mention Glassdoor, Levels.fyi, or a separate source? Or neither?? Looking at a role I’m currently a candidate for and the discrepancy of pay between Glassdoor and Levels.fyi is absurd (IE Glassdoor average salary is almost 40K higher than Levels.fyi) Glassdoor also has more “data points”, for lack of a better term, than Levels.fyi for this role.
Thoughts??

Hey guys. I have an interview with EY Parthenon M&A Finance coming up. My recruiter said it will be an interview to assess my M&A/F&A Skills. Is that just a long winded way to say a case interview? Also does anyone have any tips on the interview process? Financial analyst here with experience in ERP implementation and working for the consulting line of business for my current company. I’m sure people will cry bias, but in my experience based on people movements across both ways:
Accenture AM associate manager is the same level as Deloitte M
Accenture M in the same level as Deloitte SM
Accenture SM in the same level as Deloitte Director.
I haven’t worked out if Deloitte has directors and managing directors. In Accenture we have both associate directors and managing directors.
Wrong
Accenture SMs can lead offerings and regions! I think the big 4 SM role is a more stressed out manager. At Accenture SM is really the equivalent of a director/MD (non partner) role at Big 4. Stock options too. I’d take it!
ACN SM is not the same as B4 MD. Just lol.
Source: Was a B4 SM years ago.
Pro
ACN folks will say same level but Deloitte SM expectations and pay are higher on average
P1 - you sound like you never worked at both.
ACN SM work on multiple accounts, have sales and revenue targets, and manage delivery too. Especially, if they need to make to partner. Heck, as a manager, even I had sales and revenue targets, because I joined at level 3 manager & I had to make it to SM.
SM aid the most hardest position at ACN. Their salaries are competitive, and in some areas, they beat Deloitte . Depends on your negotiating power.
Deloitte can keep saying that they are different.
I now see it as a tactic that some firms use to to hire folks from other firms for cheaper. Oh, your level is lower than ours.
It’s just a brand image that they are trying to keep maintaining.
Btw, I went from ACN Manager to Deloitte SM!!
SM’s at Accenture are on different levels. A SM1 vs a SM8 (due to long pipeline) are two different people with different expectations. It also differs by practice

In my experience at both firms in the OU I was in—yes, it was the last level before making partner/MD.
That said, I believe it differs between OU at both firms.
Essentially yes since it’s the level before MD or partner.

Haven’t checked for consulting but I already know it’s impossible. In Accenture we have strategy, consulting, tech, ops, song. They all may as well be different companies with different pay scales
SM = Stressed Manager
