I honestly thought we were in one already too and then people keep saying that we aren't so I was confused. All I can say is that I don't know how things can get much more rough than they already are. This is such a challenging time for so many.

I agree if things got much more worse truly I’d need a third job!!!
Definitely trying to save every penny we can right now. Feels like we're already in a recession if I'm being honest. I think that anyone who denies that is sort of living in a different reality. So, we're trying to save as much as we can but it's definitely difficult right now in this economy
I don’t anticipate that much will change, other than the fact that I’ll be able to buy my investments at cheaper prices during a bear market.
The work I do in healthcare needs to be done in order for the Medicare money to continue to flow (and this has NOTHING to do with sending claims), so I have job security, since I’m good at what I do and for the most part, play well with others.
So yeah…I will continue to work, pay my bills, save, invest and do my thing. Right now, I have a 3 month emergency fund saved up (and am continuing to fund it slowly but surely), but the state I live in is also very generous when it comes to unemployment (26 weeks) and they also have paid medical/family leave for up to 3 months, so I’ll be OK if worse comes to worse.
I genuinely think we are in a quiet recession that nobody is willing to admit. The amount of places that are going out or are just about to go out of business is, I feel, under reported. It's just a matter of time before there is a straw to break the camels back. We are already seeing massive layoffs and closures in multiple industries that are bringing the economic reality to light.
