Just get the vaccine and you'll be fine. If everyone just got the vaccine we'd be just fine. I'm not going to extremes again bc ppl are too ignorant to get the stupid vaccine

C5 not sure if you’re following the numbers, but we’re in no danger of not surviving. That 99.7% survival rate tho…
Now if this was the movie Contagion come to life and mortality was 25%, you’d better believe I’d be socially distanced all the way into my apocalypse bunker.
Not sure my mental health can take another winter in lockdown. We’re going to have to learn to live with COVID - it’s not going away. I’m not bunkering down again when I wore my mask and got my shot.

Why is that? Seriously, what is different about the scenarios? Think about the differences in vaccines, virus, and cases. Think… or just look it up if you’re not sure.
I'm moving on, I'm vaccinated. Can't do much more than that.
I also had a breakthrough infection. Generally healthy. I’ve felt absolutely horrible the last week. So many people I know have no also had break through infections. None of us even got the formal tests in lieu of the state home test kits. There is way more infection out there than being reported and at least in my area in seems like breakthrough infections are really common.
Even with waning protection, the vaccine still reduces the danger of an infection. We just need broader local mandates to convince people to actually get vaccinated, especially in states with low uptake.
If you think the vaccine is a “gene therapy,” you have no idea what gene therapy is and should educate yourself before you weigh in on this topic.

I got my vaccine, after 14 months of living at home and masking.
Vaccine is our way out. I’m not willing to put my entire life on hold indefinitely because of vaccine holdouts. Sorry

I wonder how many in favor of lockdowns from the woke FB crowd would be if it was them not being able to work or get your paycheck.

Hey, me again.
I don’t think anyone’s “in favor of lockdowns” it’s just that 48.5% of the US population isn’t fully vaccinated even with Delta in the mix. There’s a little over 20% of the population under 15 years old, which hasn’t been able to get the vaccine, and has become more available with time and testing. So about 28.5% of people over the age of 15 aren’t vaccinated (almost 95 million people). Over 90% of people hospitalized for covid are unvaccinated, this includes kids and infants who can’t get the vaccine bc it’s in the trial stages for their age.
There’s also a small percentage of people that have had longstanding pre-covid religious exemptions and pre-existing negative allergic reactions to vaccines, these people are reliant on everyone else to do their part so they can live their lives.
Let’s circle back to your statement about the “woke FB crowd” and asking how they’d feel if they couldn’t work or get a paycheck. You do understand that the general population has been living with this for a year and a half, right? For 13 months there wasn’t a vaccine available and delta showed up at the end of last year. The vaccine has been available to the general public till about 4 months ago.
Do you remember last year, the layoffs, the hiring freezes, the 14.8% unemployment rate (approx 30 million people) in April? Do you remember the big businesses that received bailouts while small businesses were left desolate? I’d say a decent amount of people in the general public (woke or not) are familiar with not being able to work/getting paid, but from things they had no control over.
What is “woke” to you? What does it mean to be “woke” in a covid-related bowl on FB? Seriously asking. Please be as specific as possible.
Anyone else kind of want reverse Covid triage at hospitals? I.e., normal critical care takes priority over unvaxxed Covid critical care?

I see where you’re coming from, you’re saying a personal choice (that’s harmful to one’s health) shouldn’t prevent care or coverage of that’s received. You’re worried a decision like that would snowball into more companies removing coverage, I hear ya.
The issue with your comparison is that smokers with cancer don’t create an outbreak of cancer/smokers and obese people with cardiovascular issues don’t create an outbreak of obesity/cardio issues. I’m pretty sure some covid deniers and anti-maskers said “F those guys” to the same crowd (ppl with pre-existing conditions) last year. Aren’t some people in need of medical care (same people you mentioned and more) being discharged from hospitals early because of the overwhelming amount of covid patients arriving at hospitals?
Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t being infected with covid have the potential to create some pre-existing conditions?
Anybody else excited to hunker back down in their cozy cave? Vaccinated extrovert here but I’m ready to stay inside. I’ve had too many covid scares and am sick of living my life in 5 day testing windows to see if I’m in the clear or not, the paranoia isn’t worth it anymore. Come find me when it’s over.
