On face value, this seems great. Good comp bump, known & good manager, better culture. Why is it even a debate other than maybe exact comp level?

He should take this offer, and continue job hunting data scientist is a hot job, it’s a hot market and he may be able to get 300+ at tech. But more than likely he’ll love the new role, and his WLB will improve — and he may not want to change.

Current title is Data Science Manager
New title would be Principal Data Scientist (up a level but on IC track)
To me it’s a no-brainer but he is nervous about making the switch and getting cold feet so looking for some outside opinions.
These are both fully remote roles
