Oh and btw- BAH:Senior Consultant::Deloitte:Consultant
OP you're underpaid for your level. I know consultants a level below you making more. I've asked around on here and Associate at Booz Allen seems to be about the point where you can lateral at other firms without starting out at the entry level. Do-able at SC, but you'll probably have to make a strong case. If you wait until Associate, it won't be questioned.
You could go for Senior Consultant at Deloitte if you can talk about your experience leading teams/workstreams. That salary is low, low, low. We pay our analysts more than that.
Post an email if you want a referral into something.
Senior associate at PwC.
Would be senior associate at pwc.
I'd say with 2.5 years you could lobby for a senior associate position at pwc, but be prepared to go to the mat for it. I came in with 2 years experience from a non-big 4 firm and was brought in as an associate. You will have to get an entire performance year under your belt at the company before you are promotion eligible. I'd wait till you hit 3 years before trying to come over, and aim for SA.
Thank you all for the input! D1 that's my main reason for looking elsewhere, love the WLB here at Booz but I am definitely trying to make more.
Appreciate it P3, I will definitely look tonight.
Coming in as SA can be iffy, IMO... having said that, I think our Associates are making more than 62k. Where are you located, OP?
Yeah... BAH SC should be at or right below $80k... 62 is criminal. I came over from BAH, btw... in DC.
For clarification, I'm asking what level at each would be appropriate? Associate, consultant, etc.
Have you led teams? Are you willing to not work on federal projects (I assume you only do federal work based on your firm).
Yes and yes
DC metro area, so underpaid for my region IMO
D1 I don't think SC would happen. Can't bill someone out in a typical SC labor category if they only have two years of experience, and I probably wouldn't staff an SC with what I guess is minimal if no experience leading teams and is essentially the equivalent of a 1st year consultant.
