Market dependent, but where I am we are more senior and expected to help biz dev and sell so the salary trends higher.
Can you provide a range for the NE market. I.e NY and Philly?
I talked to Slalom a while ago and have friends there. For a long time they didn’t go after junior resources but I think they were trying to change the model. Just beware that with two years of experience, you’re likely to be on the very bottom of the totem pole there. I am not sure how development will be for you compared to other firms - likely more stretch opportunities but less structure and clarity on your progression there. If you’re open to that and go in with the right expectations could be a good fit. They pay 10-15% less (on average) than larger firms but the benefit is no travel. That % came from them when they interviewed me😂
Right, so back to my point above, in the long run you won’t be paid more and they’ll tell you that too. You likely can negotiate a pay bump up front but you’d fall behind larger firms within 1-3 years and end up unhappy again.
😐
Trying to get some info. I am sure if you had someone that could tell you, you would appreciate it. So I appreciate the help on this post if possible.
I’ve been at Slalom for a while now (over 3 years)...great people but paltry raises and bonuses, good projects if you can get outside of the staff aug vortex...but I have to go make some money now, and that’s not going to happen here relative to market value
What we’re telling you is that’s not a thing. And you won’t make more there. Well, it’s not likely.
Slalom’s pay bands are much lower than big firms because they can’t get B4 rates. A lot of times S&O is just glorified PMO.
Do you have a book of clients? If not then you may be okay with their salary level. Entry/mid level salaries are okay there. Many people there don’t see travel as a perk. That’s why they join, because they don’t want to travel anymore so take pay cuts to join.
This.
Hopefully I'm not hijacking op's thread. At Slalom, are the pay bands higher in D&A than Strategy, or does Strategy have the higher bands?
