At what compensation increase should I consider leaving my current role I recently joined for another? This would be switching from big 4 to big 4. And would your answer change if I was moving to a non big 4 (lesser name recognition)?

Big 4 plus BAH - I value all opinions
As someone who has jumped companies a number of times over my career, I’d generally recommend that unless it’s a pretty significant increase (what’s significant will vary by the person, but I’d say at least 30-50%) I’d do everything you can to stick it out at least one full year. Just looks better overall than jumping before you’ve even settled in.
I interview and recruit extensively. People that jump around are a red flag for me. I’d say you need to have 18 months at least with one company. Hopefully a promotion as well before you move. That demonstrates ability to deliver, not just land jobs.
D5, I’d add that if they are the ones seeking your specific experience and interested in you, burn the 3 month bridge but make the new company give you at least 20-25% raise to jump ship.
if it’s accenture, why not? MABB > Big 4
Tough to sense sarcasm in texts. Fair though.
You’re making 100k as an analyst?
95K. I rounded to make math easier for people to give answers. But to D4’s point, I was an experienced hire and not a campus hire hence my higher starting base. I just didn’t have enough consulting experience for the recruiter/hiring person to justify the “consultant” title so they said start as an A and then I’ll have a better opportunity to learn in the consulting world
I'm not sure if compensation must be the primary factor to switch jobs. In that case, I'm pretty sure start-ups would provide around 70% hike, if they're really impressed.
Consider other factors - Like the responsibility and the role you're going to play in, values and ethics, type of people who you're going to work with. To get on with the project, culture and other stuffs - definitely might take time. And switching like very frequently isn't a health thing to do as well :)
All, I’m not seeking out a new role but I have recruiters contacting me. So these companies are accepting of my small time frame. In my eyes, I have planned on staying at my company until I get promoted plus some small time in that promoted role. But these recruiters are making me question that judgement hence my question to you all on at what point should I strongly consider these recruiters’ offers. So far the advice has been helpful and I really appreciate it!!
Have you been at your current company for 2 years and 3 months or only 3 months?
Hmm if you’re gonna promote within the next year to consultant then you should stay. If you leave, Yourll get 20-30% raise but you should get around tht for promoting as well? Ideally, you should promote then try to leave for 20% more. For me, 30% raise and 15K signing bonus was enough to get me to leave the first time lol.
