It’ll be your office for a day but then I’m checking it out the next and moving all your stuff

The leader of the entire US GPS practice at EY does not have a dedicated office. So…

No, you’re just a jerk. I used an example to illustrate how rare a dedicated office is at EY. You decided that somehow GPS is beneath you and “doesn’t count.” Good for you, SC. I’m sure Gerry and George will be up all night worrying about the opinion of a senior consultant.
What’s the value of a dedicated space vs. a hoteling office? Just being able to leave stuff in there? Travel light and it doesn’t really matter anyway.
As someone who came from industry and had an office for ten plus years I miss it a lot. It’s like your bedroom but for work where you host guests. Like when you were a kid and invited other kids over to hang out
Partner or someone who’s a director and spends X number of hours at the office. Usually a Manager or Senior Manager and above can book a working space of an office but it’s not permanent and assigned.
Many consulting firms have been downsizing offices in general even before the pandemic, and that’s often fine - most of the senior folks are supposed to be getting face time with clients anyway. If you have an office set aside for someone who’s only in the office once every two weeks, that’s a lot of wasted space you’re paying s lease on - unless you just have the vast majority of folks reserve and check into a space. Reserving space rather than assigning it also reduces people leaving s bunch of personal items around, which is annoying for others who may try to use that space when the person it’s assigned to isn’t in.
Dawg, what country are you in? Most if not all B4 offices are agile workspaces. Unless you're in the leadership (ie. US Managing Partner) you don't get your own office.

Senior PPMD at Deloitte
I used to have one as a partner, but with Covid, now only the most senior people get offices.
Deloitte does not automatically give offices to partners?
Most (maybe almost all?) share offices with another PMD. Generally some matching up of people who really never come in with someone who frequently does happens.
During this return to office, partner and directors offices are “hotelable” (first to reserve, no long term reservations) for now
I used to have an office as a manager in a smaller city. But now, I don’t think anyone will have an assigned private office.
Just hotel into an office when you go in. That’s what I do now.
Why would partners need an office? They spend their most of their time on the road, at dinners. And the remaining time they can spend in their home office
No need for an office. I plan to stay at home or be on the road.
Do you really need a private office. Either way your sitting in a chair in front of a computer. I’ve had a private office before and I can’t say it was a huge benefit.
