McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? Margin profitability- for junior staff. Stupid.
IMHO I think it's fair to feel blindsided when your performance reviews say that you're doing fine and you get fired.
And it's not a good business practice to burn bridges with people - most of my acquaintances who felt blindsided mentioned that they'll make their life goal to block their previous employer in any future projects.
What else do you wish to share OP? You seem very knowledgeable, we will all gain a lot from your profound teachings
Stop saying you had a great rating, awards, X% utilization. If you are on the bench with nothing in sight. Be proactive and look for another job. Did you think the Partners were going to pay for your salary? Clients do!

Don't mean to be obnoxious, it's for those that feel blindsided by their firm and wonder why they got laid off. I have nothing to gain, just paying it forward. Something I wish I knew early on in my career.
My friend's boss said working with Deloitte is difficult because they laid off a key person on the project without giving anyone any notice. He thought the Deloitte SC would follow up on all meeting action items. If the client had known that the Deloitte person was going to leave, they would have done things differently. Not only ex-Deloitters are mad, clients are too.

@OP, people who (have all the great rating, awards, 90+% utilization) were staffed / on client site were still laid off. How do you explain that?!
