60 is on the low end. Don’t wait for a review period to necessarily ask for more. Make a case for yourself based on recent wins and how you contribute to the team. Did you start there as a jr? Staying at the same place usually means smaller salary jumps.
@AD2 80 is not the low end for mid.
I don’t ever understand when people say you should just be thankful, shut up and let them take advantage of you. If you are delivering value and consistently, why shouldn’t you ask for more money?
Mid is a pretty big range. I've seen everything from 65 to 95 depending on experience.
Underpaid for sure
@OP, Also just be thankful you're at droga. They wouldn't give most of us a second glance. Make some great work, and then run to another shop with a huge bump and better life work balance.
Associate Creative Director 1; That’s about right
Where you at now?
Almost 3 years now, Started as a jr. Feel like I am falling behind compared to my peers even though I know I don't have a high amount of years of experience. But for the amount work we do at d5, It feels longer.
It’s a tough situation, OP. If you have any CDs who you work really well with and can vouch for you, just have an honest conversation. It won’t be easy, but it’s amazing what can happen when a CD with the right connections goes to bat for you. You might not make the huge leap you’d like to make if you went elsewhere, but you might get something. Keep in mind your current projects - if you have some work coming up that will really make your book even more kickass than it already is, stick around for a while. The great work you can do at D5 will probably get you further career-wise than a title change/ pay bump somewhere else. At least long term. Good luck.
D5 😬
OP I believe they meant what are you being paid now... and creatives get compensated quite nicely compared to the other dept’s here
60k
OP how many years experience do you have?
What could I expect to making coming out of an internship?
Im a mid on 80 and Im on the low end
The question is why haven’t you left yet
80 is a low end. 60 is criminal.
I was at 90 last year, now I'm at a 100, 3 years experience. Not d5, but still relatively great shops.
OP, did you participate in any huge projects, won any awards, gained some mad press, or, maybe produced a bunch of great tv? If so, ask for a raise. 70 is your absolute minimum imo. That's also probably what they'll go for..
I’m making 80k, was making 60k at my last place
I wouldn’t call it criminal. You do realize people make $30k in nyc right?
But yeah, agree
