That's as alternative as alternative dispute resolution is going to go, literally split the baby in half.

This happened with my grandfather. Split between his kids and his new wife.

Soo I know this has been asked a million times, but since everything changes week to week, what are others in high COVID caseload areas doing for preschool/daycare? I’m more asking out of concern for my kid’s socialization—we are lucky to be able to afford a nanny. I feel so incredibly lost.

How do you make a new friends in 2022? Took a job in a small, quiet city. Blue New England area that's very COVID cautious. Most bars close before 11p. I like the firm, I like the work, but I cannot see myself staying long term in an area where I don't have friends and everyone seems scared of interacting with people they don't know. I'm not even talking about dating (though that'd be nice), I'm just talking about not spending all my off time drinking alone in my apartment.

So my husband and I decided to go back to our original plan and starting to try for a baby next month. My daughter will be 18 months old and it’s been a struggle with work and her in general with covid and no daycare or outside help. I’m down to part time hours already with the intention of her hopefully being able to go to daycare in the summer or fall. I really want to complete my family but worry about not having help with two kids. Plus I dk how long it could take to get pregnant this time

Opinions needed: I’m involved in BPN (black professionals network) at work. We try to have events and touch points each quarter, but obviously because of COVID we haven’t been able to do so. I am trying to brainstorm ideas for connecting virtually (email newsletters, zoom calls, etc) and possible topics to be included and discussed so that it won’t end up in just a negative venting session. I would like to keep it positive and upbeat. Ideas/suggestions welcome!

I was never a perfume person, but recently decided I want to be. We don’t go anywhere notable with COVID around, so I just wear it around the house in my lounge outfits (aka uniform of the past two years). Still perks me up though! WHY are we so nasty and vindictive to each other? Got an entire 30 day block from Blacks In Tech for pointing out that a conversation about the COVID-19 vax did not begin from a respectful place. IMO starting a respectful convo on that topic means inviting people to share their “reasons”. This person started the discussion from the angle that Black people have “misconceptions” - which plays into the narrative that we are too dumb to evaluate the info and land on a decision which is right for us.

Anyone with flu symptoms quarantining but not taking a Covid test? I’m quarantining, I don’t need medical assistance, and I haven’t been in contact with anyone high risk. I’m struggling and need advice. I’ve been in a senior role at my company for 3+ years, doing the job of a Director / VP without the title and comp. My execs dangle the promo carrot with insane goals but when I (over)deliver, I’m told I need to do more to earn the promo. It’s clear they won’t acknowledge my value and are content to take full advantage of my IP. I’m exhausted, emotionally raw, burnt out and want to quit—but as the sole breadwinner, I’m terrified of the job market. What do I do?
