Bain is significantly behind McKinsey and BCG comp. Our “advantage” on culture does not satisfy the gap. I hate to say it, but given lack of leadership communication on the gap in our pay, I’m forced to say: Bain is tier 2; BCG and McKinsey are tier 1. I wish I had chosen a different firm. One that pays me what I’m worth.

Got a 30% salary bump, via an offer for Senior Consultant S&O from Deloitte. Currently underpaid at EY Advisory. I'm MBA and this year is my promotion year at EY for Manager. What to do? Get demoted and move to D? Or counter at EY? Even if EY matches my salary, and promote me to Manager, I will be an EY Manager with a Deloitte SC salary, and probably won't be able to go to D in the future. What do you think? I have built up a good relationship with my Partner and SMs at EY though.

Qualified Dividends: I’m expecting $650-$750 qualified dividend in 2021. Salary and base about $250 total. Questions: what tax rate will the qualified dividend be taxed at? The 15% or 20%?
