Do you spend at least $300 on travel a year? If so, CSR effectively only has a $150 due to the travel credit
Chase also counts ubers as part of travel so super easy to get the $300 back
Amex Blue and Freedom card if it’s your first card. Can’t run around with just Amex as it’s still not accepted everywhere. If you have better credit, go for the sapphire preferred for your travel needs.

Travel international maybe twice a year, domestic like once or twice a year but will be move after I graduate grad school in May
Dining out maybe 200 a month when you account for lunch and some dinners (and ubereats)
Spend about 400 a month on other things
Groceries like 200 a month (I often cook for a family member who lives nearby)
You might like Amex everyday blue, for the good cash back on groceries. I think overall go with the Citi Double card, for 2% cash back on every purchase everywhere (but use the Amex blue for groceries).

Input your numbers and see if you rake up enough points to offset annual fee
If this is your first card (and sounds like it is), don’t get suckered into the flashy cards with fees right away. Your expenses also sound relatively low. Pick a no fee, cash back card and build credit. Pay it off every month. Build good habits. When you are comfortable with credit cards and channeling more expenses through credit, then start to play the games with multiple cards. Just calculate expected return based on your expenditures and ensure return > cost. Good luck!
Thanks y’all. I currently have two cards from Bank of America. One for travel and another points card but I feel like I don’t get enough from them. Credit score 750
Those were my first two cards too. They suck. Get into the Chase system. Sapphire Reserve is the best and you’ll probably make it work.
