Been interviewing w/ a company for 7 weeks and was very excited about the opportunity. Salary expectations were given upfront. Offer came in today (after weeks of “rebanding the role and shifting budgets to allow for higher salary) and total package (base, salary, benefits) are about 40K less than where I am at currently. Should I negotiate or is it too far off?

If this results and BAU does not change, is it more right to leave my job? Or stay where change is needed?
