Been working remotely doing workers comp for about 4 months now since I moved states. I am looking for an in person role in the state I moved to. I’ve had it come up in interviews that the hiring partner had concerns of me going to court in person. Has anyone ever had this issue before? If so, how did you go about addressing those concerns?

What state are you doing the remote Workers Comp from?

like

Did they explain what their concerns were?

Is it coming up because you’re working remotely now? If so, make clear that it’s not an issue and you’re looking to change jobs because you want to be in person.

Hello All,

Recently I was reached out by a recruiter at Meta for ML Engineer role. I have more than 5 years of experience in ML but I am not ready/prepared for an interview at Meta. What should I do? Should I just reject the opportunity or at least give it a try?

If I schedule an interview, can anyone help me with resources which can help me prepare in 15 days or so.

I’ve given a detailed summary of all of my expenses yet every month one family member in particular comes to me for rent money (not some, the full amount, and they refuse to get a job). It has become quite the burden.

Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. The end result being every call has 25 people on it and nothing actually gets done because no one wants to ask a question that could come off as silly. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.

For associates who have lateraled in the last 6 months or so, what made you decide to move? Has your situation improved since moving? Negotiating a settlement. I’m at $10k, opposing counsel is at $20k. My client won’t go higher than $15k. OC has come down to 17.5k and says his client won’t budge from that. Do I offer 12.5k so we can hopefully meet in the middle at 15k? Is that how the settlement game is played? Seems dumb we can’t just say let’s meet in the middle now and be done with this. (I’m a first year, first time negotiating a settlement on my own and I don’t want to screw this up!)
