Oh wow this is quite a question. I'd say protecting my family and wanting to make sure we have a safe future for them, and to be someone of honor that they can look up to. Initially it just appealed to me from a "badass" from the outside perspective but at this point it's all family.
Despite my years of service in the army, there has never been a time when I haven't felt scared whenever I get deployed to a combat area. What motivates me is to ensure that all the men under my command make it back home. They have families while I do not, and that motivates me even more.
I'm admire your bravery. While I'm ready to defend my country, I can't say that I've never been scared. My heart does sink a little bit every time

This is a tough one. And you can already expect different answers. I think I just want to protect my family and their security.
That I am doing this for the people and future generations to come. I know it's cliche but it works wonders. How about you?
