Hi Friends, any news for ITA (C2) promotion?
Any one familiar with comp for a Portfolio Associate roll at PIMCO on their mortgage backed securities team? I’m looking at an offer and want make sure I’m in line with the average comp for the company and industry. Only 4 months of experience and offer is 98k w/ 10-20% bonus plus 15k relo/ sign on. Looking at Glassdoor, bonuses seem higher than quoted by the hiring manager. (No written offer yet they say they’re still working on it)

The CSR is often mentioned because for many of us, travel and dining comprise a significant portion of our credit card-able expenses and the CSR gets 3x points on those categories (Chase points are generally also seen as more valuable than, say, Amex points, due to redemption flexibility as well as the actual rates). The $300 travel credit on the card is broadly applicable and has fewer restrictions than, say, the $200 Amex Plat Uber credit (distributed by monthly allotments) and reduces the effective annual cost to $150.
The value of the CSR is naturally reduced if you have to use a corporate card for work expenses, but it’s still a compelling option for most.
Have a CSR, but I'm actually leaning more towards Amex lately. Between one of the many flavors of Platinum and the new Gold card you can match the categories of the CSR closely enough, and for me the fact that the points pool with the corporate card outweigh the hassle of two cards.
The fees are a bit much yes, but as long as I get more value than I've paid for (that I would've otherwise paid out of pocket, that's the important part) I'm okay with it
Is CSR really worth it if company enforce you to use company card for flight and hotel?
@K1 depends on your personal travel/dining budget. I’m “local” now but rack up enough personal travel to make it worthwhile; YMMV (break-even point varies from $2.3k–3.3k annual travel/dining spend based on valuation between 1.5–2.2cpp)
KPMG1 you should check to see if you can use the corporate code directly on the main hotel websites to book. You will get the same rate but apply it to your own card. Been doing this at Accenture without issues
Thanks Sud1
@A1 - I’ll fail audit for that. I’ve done it once by accident when hotel charged it to my personal card. Audit rejected my expense and had to appeal.
Sorry to hear. Seems like an iron grip on the personal credit card policy. Prob not worth it if your 3% travel bonus will not make up for the effective $150 ($450-$300 travel credits) fee each year
