From Paris Hilton to now Tom Brady ...

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Alsace? Lived in LA for 12 years. Never heard of any area by that name.
Wikipedia literally calls it an archaic place name for Playa Vista lol!
Haha never seen that, would've just known that as Marina Del Rey. Can't help you with hotels there, sorry!
Weird. That's Playa Del Rey (PDR). MDR would be just north of the channel/freeway. SPG options limited unless you want to drive. Ritz and Marriott MDR are solid. LAX hotels are all mediocre and nothing good walkable. W Westwood but the drive will kill you. Shade in Manhattan for change of pace / beach living with reasonable (20-30m) drive.
If desperate for true SPG, Meridien Santa Monica is great, but drives will suck. Aloft or Sheraton both nicer than Westin LAX, but the neighborhood is awful and traffic on Century can make you homicidal.
Yes. PDR, PV, MDR all outstanding areas. Marriott and Ritz are on the harbor / 10 min walk to beach. 10 min drive to your map pin.
The beach you walk to is Venice... the hime@of weirdness. Not to be missed. Baja Cantina, C&O Trattoria, and Mercedes for delish dinners. Mendocino Farms for lunch. Whaler and Hinson for dive beers. I lived one block from the Marriott. #allthefeels
Both Sheraton and Westin suck, but Sheraton is worse - try and get out of that for following weeks. Marriott is most walkable and our rate there is pretty good. Ritz isnt nearly as walkable but a nicer hotel (20+ minute walk to the the beach) I live right there (at Venice pier) - so if you have any specific questions let me know.
Its been long enough that I defer to BCG1 on that one - but both still suck :)
Yes. That. And only fast food options.
Lol same^

I know very little about LA. Just seemed like he closest neighborhood I could find
Ah ok. Thanks anyway!
Perfect. Thanks BCG1!
Pretty tempted to find an Airbnb in playa del Rey and just enjoy being closer to the beach. Is it safe to assume that the area is decent?
Yeah we shall see but I have a feeling that the Marriott and ritz will be out of our budget. We don't have those sweet, sweet bcg rates

Awesome. Thanks for the tips. Excited for an LA based project. Never had a project on the coast before
@bcg1 it's looking like the Sheraton or Westin lax this coming week. Any reason you say the Sheraton over the Westin? I really like my heavenly beds :)
