Best paying strategy consulting exit on a hourly rate basis? (i.e. not PE)

Hi guys, I got an offer from x and i discussed that with my current. At 1st current said they can only give 30% increment. I said I can't stay with this cause i got 70% and expect at least 50%(as the 70% included VP and the current org don't have vp, they have bonus). Then they said they can do max 45%. I really wanted to stay here so I said okay to current. Then now hr called me and said they are matching the offer(no vp). What should I make out of it? What made them change their mind?

Hi everyone, should a Java Spring backend developer (2.5 y.o.e) go for SAP Hybris? Hybris uses Spring Framework internally as I am told but I want to grow as a Java backend developer and want to work with microservices based projects. Interviewing for Amazon L6 PMT role. Levels seems to be a bit outdated or the bases are all low. Is L6 a lateral move for PL (manager)?
