Better to be bold and to stand up to a client or just shut up and tell them they're right/take their shit? Senior associate who doesn't care much if fired

After reading reason, I think that OP is being oversensitive.

like

A2- I don't think OP is oversensitive . I feel as consultants , we demand respect and the clients need to be reminded that sometimes.

like

I would let this one go. They probably are just stressed out about something else.

like

What's the topic?

Take their shit. It's the hallmark of being an adult.

Asked for feedback after a presentation and was sharply told they hadn't had time to think about it and that they need me to leave so they can wrap something up. I figure they were being snippy or that I can just take it for face value? I said "sounds good, whenever works for you", but wondering if I should show more of a backbone next time?

Highly dependent on situation. Find a nice middle ground. Stick it to them but try and do it in a way that tip-toes the line of being a friable offense.

Source: SA who doesn't care much if fired and does this frequently.

Wtf is your project leadership doing? They have no other fucking job.

This is why I love the bowl. Thanks A1 and A2

I agree with over sensitive on this one OP. This may have just been the straw that broke the camels back though

If you want to quit, just do that, no need to create a high drama moment on the way out.

OP- there are lots is ways to put your point forth without offending someone . If I were your manager , I would have gladly handled the situation myself. Humor is my weapon most of the times - gets the point across without offending anyone (at least directly)

Looking for suggestions on qualifications I should pursue.

I'm a Junior Project Manager, pivoting myself into the consulting industry. I have a Business Analysis Foundation certificate and considering pursuing Prince 2 Foundation and Practitioner.

Is Prince 2 worth it for my long term goals? And how valuable is it? Is there other qualifications worth pursuing e.g. Prince 2 Agile?

Have you been fired before even starting your new job?

I signed for a new job two months ago and will start next month (3 mo notice period in Europe). They were very keen on getting me on-board ASAP before signing but since I signed the contract it has been silent from the new employee. I've emailed them with questions as I'll be re-locating to NL and it takes them 1-2 weeks to reply. Given all that's going on in the world, I'm worried they might fire me before I even start.

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.
