Leaving the firm in the coming months, and I have Skype screenshots from 2015 from an abusive team member who would send homophobic pings citing scripture from their religion.
Boss wants a zoom call to discuss revisions at 6:15pm. It’s been an hour and still they haven’t entered the room. How do I respectfully let them know they’re wasting my time and we just talk about it tomorrow morning?!
What are some fun team activities that you can do in Microsoft teams (not during a zoom meeting)? Like posting memes related to your team, summer selfies, pics of your pets etc...
Microsoft Teams - love it or hate it?
I want to get a rhinoplasty because it’s the one thing that’s always bothered me physically about myself and it’s especially potent now because of seeing my face on zoom all day. Cont in comments
If you miss a zoom meeting your bosses are on as well as other attorneys because you overslept where you were supposed to share some updates on cases you are working on as part of the conversation, do you apologize and tell them you missed your alarm OR make something up (white lie) of something that came up that you had to deal with?
People that are reaching out to strangers via linkedin: how are you conducting your networking sessions nowadays? Is it still primarily a phone conversation? Zoom webcam call? Or are in-person coffee chats coming back?
What is good leadership like in this Zoom era?
Used this as my Zoom background today. Kept getting strange looks from the Partners but not sure why....
Any parents out there feel dumped on when single people come in at 10:30 hungover so you have to pick up their slack? Or they need to take tomorrow off because Chance the Rapper’s last minute concert?
What does Zoom happy hour even mean?
I have a zoom acting class in which it is mandatory to keep video on which will be recorded for marketing purposes. I feel uncomfortable being recorded and even more uncomfortable not knowing where it is going to be used. How do I say no to a conservative teacher who will push very hard for me to do it anyway?
Been thinking about investing in Uber ($44.52) and Slack ($34.09)... anyone here invested in one of these two? What’s your take on it?
If I'm expected to take a Zoom call during my lunch hour, I'm eating on camera. Also, who cares if my lemonade happens to have a salt rim - let's just focus on the work.
Hello! Does anyone have any good process or protocol documents for Slack they’d be willing to share? Thank you!
Ideas for a virtual happy hour/social events? We typically have associate social events every few months, but obv not now. Zoom lets you see everyone, but only one person can talk at a time. Ideas?
On a tight deadline and just called in sick yesterday but still feel like I can't make it into work. How bad would it be to call in sick 2 days in a row?
About to have intro calls with some recruiters next week. What is the market comp range of workday FIN consultants 3 YOE from big 4? I really don’t know what number to expect at the moment.
On a tech project, are leads supposed to be comfortable in the technical environment and actual project workv
So so cool to see Air Canada using a sari-clad, bindi-wearing lady in the safety video! Can’t think of many other countries where this would be possible, love this country and it’s diversity 😍🇨🇦
Any pointers on what I should expect in Rd 2 of banking and Capital Markets interview ? What kind of technical questions can I prep on?
Anyone at the gates foundation willing to chat? Am interviewing for the associate strategy officer role
I need to learn a new way to speak about process improvement and efficiencies. I’ve learned I have a knack for this but it seems like such common sense to me that I struggle articulating this to people who just don’t get it. I have no certifications and have no interest in getting one… Also, can you actually teach process improvement to people who don’t get it or is this just a DNA thing. Help? :)
Have a week of PTO to move cross country then start new engagement. New engagement manager hears this and says "Great, you'll have plenty of time to help next week when you're not packing." Continued
Found a new company I like. High salary, forever remote, except they have a 6 month contract period with the intent to convert full time. Told the recruiter, I would take the offer if they eliminate the 6 month period, they came back with a 3 month timeframe. Has anyone ever effectively negotiated away the contract to hire process?
What are my options to negotiate better salary without an MBA as a M-3, Seattle, Tech, now@150k? 1. Boomerang 2. Get a better offer & ask to match 3. Speak directly with HR/senior leadership
Hi fishes Analyst 8.50 + 10% (milestone year) What will be the approx new salary if promoted to consultant.
Friday was complicated. So, I am going to break it down. Nasdaq 100 Futures (NQ) traded to the 9837 level, 32.75 points short of it's 50% HWB short. It then proceeded to sell off like nobody's business to 9846.50, 31.5 points higher than the projected objective for the HWB short. So, if you followed me on the channel, we were positioned for a nice rally at the end of the day. Markets have no memory on Friday afternoon. So, I think we are going up eventually and rally hard.
A technical consultant being staffed to the same project for 4+ years, is that good or bad?
I am sure I am not the first one asking this question on this forum. I moved from Deloitte US to Deloitte Canada a few months ago due to visa issues. I want to move back to the US. I have a very strong and supportive network in the US. How easy is it to get L1A if I spend a year in Canada? How soon can I get a GC if I move back on L1A? Anything else to keep in mind?
