As much as it sucks, now is a dangerous time to be leaving a stable job for a start up. I would weigh your options depending on your savings and how you'll fair if (god forbid) the start up can't pay you as much as they say or they lose funding or something.
Have to agree. Normally, I would say YES, and I've done it myself but right now many companies are unstable. Wait until the economy improves.
Toxic people are like molds on a cement. You just need to brush them off to clear them off the surface. Don't let them win by transitioning. Be practical and goal driven. Just do your own thing.
I agree with the other commentors, transferring now is very risky. so just give it a bit more time!
It’s a hard decision to make, but your happiness (and sanity) is worth something as well, not just the money. If you’re comfortable where you’re at moneywise and you can afford to take a cut, I’d do it.

How stable is the small startup? Right now some startups could be more stable than larger companies since many of them have gone through layoffs. It’ll depend heavily on the runway the startup has. Honesty $10k is pretty minimal and I would personally do it for the culture.
