BSW LSW in OH here.

I may just be ignorant to reason, but why are all therapist/counselor positions I see on indeed, LinkedIn, etc all looking for Master Level social workers with LSW’s? Are bachelors level LSW’s just not good enough for most jobs?

Salary discussion done on 13 Nov, but no further updates on offer letter release from HCL, will they release or not?, hr is not replying my calls or emails. How long will it take to release an offer letter ?

What is your toughest challenge hiring someone in their early 20’s?

I figure if anyone can understand this, it’s you all. I feel like I’m losing my damn mind. I have always loved communications, and I’m really good at it. But lately I’m so tired of politics and toxicity that I it’s sent me into a depression tailspin, on top of a pretty severe mid-life crisis. Two and a half weeks ago, I quit my job with nothing lined up. Not the smartest thing I’ve ever done, but I kind of feel like self-preservation was at work here. I have mostly passive investments. I was thinking the other day: what if everyone had only passive investments? Wouldn’t this create incredibly high amount of systemic risk? Are we all sheep??

While giving the tech interview as well as while having the HR discussion, I mentioned my expected CTC as 9-10 LPA(CTC). I cleared the interview and uploaded all the documents in the portal yesterday. Today mrng all the document verification was completed. But when I got the call for offer discussion, she asked what u expect. I said 9-10 LPA. She questioned me that on what basis I am asking for this much hike. She offered me 6.3 LPA as CTC with 21% variable. 5.2 as basic. Rest part in comments..

Hello, I’m an LMSW in Michigan. I have 15 years of experience in the field as a clinician, supervisor, and an administrator. I am feeling burnt out and unsure of my future. I have worked mainly in the Community Mental Health and the VA Health systems, hence my fatigue. I’ve flirted with private practice work in the past, but my spouse has been worried about not having affordable healthcare and benefits that each system provides. Is it worth the jump? Am I overthinking things?

LCSW 50k loan repayment- Has anyone been granted a contract through the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program? I’m interested in applying for the 2 years of full time work as an LCSW but my loans are a bit under 50k so I’m wondering if they would only give me what I need to clear my loans or would I still get 50k as long as I complete my contract ?

What misconceptions do you think people have about social work? or therapy?
Mine is my family still believes that only "sick" or unhappy people need to see a therapist, so they don't understand why I go to one since I have a job and a family. It's oldschool thinking and pretty annoying tbh.

Since we're headed towards cold weather and the holiday season, let's talk about how we can take care of ourselves during the fall/winter and beyond. For example, I'm buying a sun lamp because it's about to be 50 degrees and raining for 6 months 🤦🏻‍♀️.

So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself. I don't want her to think I won't be able to keep clients straight when I start doing supervised sessions.

Recently received my CSW license and have started working as a therapist at an outpatient clinic. Is a starting salary of $64,500 fair? I am supposed to aim for 28 billing hours (get paid if clients show or not) a week with 12 hours of admin time for other tasks. Thanks for any input.
